block party

Liberty Heights Block Party 2022

Celebrate the end of Summer with music, food (optional!), and lots of time to visit with neighbors and friends!

Saturday Sept 10, 2022, 3-8pm (or whenever it gets dark!)
At the corner of Carville and Banks
(Rain date Sunday Sept 11)

Pot Luck! Optional: Bring a dish to share, and beverages! We’ve heard that people want to have this be a food event again so we’re bringing back the potluck this year. We will NOT be bringing grills though, so please cook the food at home. Thanks!

Music, Neighbors, & Fun!
Featuring live music from the neighborhood!

Mo’s Ice cream truck will be there around 5pm!

How to help?

• We will need people to help put up flyers in the neighborhood during the week before the event. Download the flyer here.

• Please let me know if you can bring your compost bin so that we have plenty of them. The more bins we can get the easier it will be.

• If anyone can bring some compostable paper plates for general use please sign up. Chinet makes compostable paper products that are nice and sturdy, or standard white uncoated paper plates also work.

What to bring?

Food!

• A dish to share, savory or sweet. (optional)
• Non-alcoholic beverages to share. We always seem to run short on drinks for the kiddos, so please bring enough to share!

Equipment!

• Folding tables (please let us know us if you can bring one).
• Lawn chairs, blankets, etc. to sit on.
• Compost bins – We will need several bins to fit all the compostable items. (please email us if you can bring one). Please bring extra liner bags just in case.
• Large garbage cans and recycling bins (Please email us if you can bring one). Never can have too many!
• Ice chests. Lots of them. Stock with ice and drinks for kids if possible.

Serving stuff!

(Please let us know if you can bring some)
• Paper Napkins
• Compostable Paper plates (Chinet or another brand)
• Compostable Paper cups
• Paper towels

Games!

Bring information to share about your cultural organization or community group. We will set up an information table again this year.

If anyone would like to volunteer to round up some fun toys and lawn games for the kiddies (no supervision required once they are set up) that would be great.

Any other ideas?

Looking forward to a big turnout and good weather!

Thank you,
This year’s block party planning committee
